- ACT MATH REVIEW will be held Thursday, December 11, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm in Room A123. You may sign up in the counselor's office. The cost is $30.00 (cash only) and deadline to sign up is Tuesday, December 9.
- The OG Drama Department will present their Drama Fest Performance - The Honorable Urashima Taro Thursday @ 7pm in the Drama Room.
Tickets are $7 adults and $5 for students.
- Sylvan Learning Center will offer ACT Prep Courses on Tuesdays (4:00 - 6:00 PM) and Saturdays (10:00 AM - noon) through December 9 to prepare for the December 13 test date. Call Sylvan for more information at 601.261.0665.
- TALK YOUR WAY TO COLLEGE! The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program is seeking applicants for "A Constitutional Speech Contest." Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to apply by calling 601.544.0804 or email legion24@comcast.net.
- SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS: The Mississippi Governor's School, a three-week summer residential honors program for high ability students, is requesting nomindations for the 2009 session. The dates are June 7-26 and the theme is "Leading with Integrity." Additional information is available in the counselor's office or at www.muw.edu/govschool. Applications are due in the counselor's office by December 10.
- ALL JUNIOR & SENIOR ATHLETES: There is a new scholarship available to you. The minimum requirements include playing at least 1 year of varsity athletics and a 2.0 GPA GPA or higher. You can apply at www.allhighsports.com.
- JUNIORS & SENIORS: "Christian Leaders of the Future" is an opportunity to share your story of faith and leadership. There will be 20 top leaders selected from around the metro area' winners will be honored at a reception, wil receive a plaque and other gifts, and will be featured in the April edition of Metro Christian Living magazine. The deadline is December 19th and more details are available in the Career Center.
- All students and parents are encouraged to set up a portfolio through "Choices Planner." Choices is a FREE career assessment available anywhere there is Internet access! Choices includes an Interest Profiler, which will help you discover your personality type and relate it to careers. It also has a Work Values Sorter as well Career Finder, School Finder, and Scholarship Finder. Click here for instructions to start the Choices Planner Online.
- Buy your OGHS Annual online at myyear.com or you can click on the Taylor Publishing logo at the top left of this web page. The site will be open 24/7 until November 30. Yearbooks cost $60 (the price goes up $70 after December 1). The annual staff will also sell annuals during lunch in October.
- FREE ACT Exam Practice Tests! All students are encouraged to practice for the ACT at www.actexampracticetests.com.
- The Library needs your help! We accept the following used book donations: teen fiction, Christian fiction, adult fiction with appropriate content, nonfiction research, and old magazine. We also take Boxtops for Education, old cell phones, and printer cartridges.
- The OGHS Library would like you to join Friends of the Library at Oak Grove High School! We have many goals to help our library become a 21st Century Library Media Center and you can be a part of making that happen. - Congratulations to the OGHS Debate team for winning the New Albany Tournament and remain undefeated since January 2005. There were more individual events won at this tournament than ever before. The winners include:

- Congratulations to Oak Grove's 2009 National Merit Semifinalists: George Hobbie, Ben Hurston, Brock Hurston, Kaya Massey, Blakely Owens, Adam Saucier, Zach Shurden, Gina Ventura, and William Wild. Also Boram Lee, who is now attending the Mississippi School for Math & Science. Oak Grove has the 5th highest number of National Merit Semifinalists in the state:
