  • EXCELLENT FREE PARENT RESOURCE! www.collegeparents.org offers information & guidance on everything from summer programs to financial aid to career planning! 

  • Seniors are encouraged to visit the website: www.eduinconline.com By completing the COmmon Black College Application online, the student is able to apply to ALL 33-member universities by using ONE APPLICATION and paying a one-time fee of $35.

  • Seniors may request copies of transcripts, letters of recommendations, and GPAs from the counselors' office. ALL forms requiring a counselor's signature need to be turned in to allow processing time.  The processing time for signatures and other forms will be ONE WEEK. For letters of recommendation, please bring a copy of your RESUME and allow TWO WEEKS processing time.  Dur to the large number of seniors, it is VERY important to allow plenty of time near deadlines especially before Christmas holidays!

  • Seniors planning to apply to Samford University in Birmingham: The deadline for academic scholarship consideration is December 1. see their web site, www.samford.edu, for details.

  • Mississippi State Distinguished Scholarship Application is due online by December 1, 2008.

  • ACT TESTING - Nearly every college/university and community college requires students to have taken the ACT to apply for admission and scholarships.   ACT highly encourages students to register ONLINE at www.actstudent.org. Students receive their admission ticket and have the best choice of test centers by registering online.  (Paper registration packets and practice booklets are still available in the Career Center, A117.)  Our high school code number is #251-180.

There are lots of options for paying for college: loans, grants, scholarships, and work study, to name a few. Below are different links to websites we recommend:
